Curious to know your thoughts if you watched this series on Planet Green. Some of it was not surprising, but some of it was quite eye-opening. I also couldn't believe that most of the kids on the show didn't seem to change their actions much even after they were confronted with the horrible working and living condtions of the food workers.
I also wish they'd have spent some time letting people know what they can do to change things. I already don't eat fast food and I try to buy local when I can, but how does that help these poor, foreign workers? Most products don't have fair-trade options that can be substituted.
I don't want to buy products I don't feel good about, but at the same time, that doesn't really help these people, either. I'd love to know what others are doing (or not doing) and if it had any impact on you.
Re: Blood, Sweat & Takeaways. Anyone watch this?
I have seen a few of the episodes. I saw the rice one, the chicken one, and the one where they were on the fish market.
I am thumbs-up on the fair trade angle they have going. They really push it and I think its about time reality tv actually tries to do something for the world besides supplying people just to mock. Know what I mean?
