The temperature when I left work this morning (according to my car) was eleven degrees. This is simply unacceptable! If this groundhog sees his shadow and predicts a longer winter next I'm going to be all for the animatronic one that PETA wants to start using...
come on spring!
Re: eleven
I've been sick all week, and blaming it on the cold weather. How bad is it that it's noon and I'm looking forward to going back to bed already?
Ky- My skin gets the same way in the winter. I've started applying oil every other day it's helped a lot. It's a modified version of this http://www.theoilcleansingmethod.com/, but I just do it right after showering so that I don't have to steam. I also use jojoba oil instead, because it's supposed to be the closest to your natural skin chemistry (and I'm only looking for moisturizing benefits, not acne treatment). Some girls even use a high grade olive oil. I'd recommend giving it a shot. It saves me from the I-want-to-rip-my-face-off feeling.
First of all - I am ridiculously DONE with winter. It's way too freakin' cold, and NOBODY likes recess duty or bus dismissal in this stuff!
Secondly - Ky, my skin is ALWAYS awful in winter (I always have eczema patches popping up, but they're so much worse during the cold months)... and unfortunately, pregnancy hormones have apparently declared war on my skin and they've sent my skin completely off the deep end. EVERYTHING itches this winter (my back, my feet, my hands, my stomach - you get the idea). Curel has a brand-new "Itch Defense" lotion that I've been using as my daily body lotion and it's really helped a lot. Funny enough, right after I started using it, there were also several rave reviews about it on the F&B board, so I must not be the only person finding it to do the trick. I picked up a big bottle of it at WalMart for around $10, I think it was. Maybe that's worth a try?
... every single day of forever.
Oh my gosh, i get the eczema patches like crazy too!!! They're horrible! And its funny you should say that about the Curel Itch Defense. I actually got a bottle last weekend. My problem is I'm SOOOO picky about lotion (I have about 6 large bottles, all different lotions, that I don't like for one reason or another). My problem with the Curel is the feel of it, its a little too greasy than what I normally like and the smell drives me nuts. I used to LOVE a special Itch lotion that Nutrogena made but they discontinued it last year and ever since I've been on the search for the perfect lotion. Still haven't found it. I have to keep using the Curel even though I don't love it or I'm going to go out of my mind with the pain and itching.
