so, there's a child who works for me (work study, barely 18) who, in the front office this week, pointed to something on Secretary's desk and asked what it was.
Normal question, we have weird crap--scranton machines, shredders, uber-high-speed-scanners that look funny, etc.
But this? This thing she didn't know?
An old Electric Typewriter.
The child has never seen one.
she's not living this down. Especially since her response was "I've HEARD of them, my mom told me about them but...I've never SEEN one"
But considering I learned to type on a manual sucker, I feel positively ancient. *shaking stick* STAY OFF MY GRASS
Re: "what is that?" uhmm. Great. now I feel REALLY old
I just a friendly gal looking for options.
Ha. Old typewriters make me think of my typing class with Mrs. Newman.
asdf jkl; 50 times in one class.
I did show her a 5-1/4 floppy.
ANd showed her that it FLOPPED.
she was astounded.
i thought 6 meant a .45 and was like, "damn! calm down!"
hahahahah hmo. Guess that shows my age!
