Did anyone watch Housewives of OC?

Is it just me or were you shocked that Alexa called her mother a b!tch and said F--- you?  I don't even want to think of what would have happened to me if I ever said anything like that to my mother.  The whole situation is so sad to me.

Re: Did anyone watch Housewives of OC?

  • yes, I watched it.  The whole thing is so very sad.  Amazing how manipulative a teenager can be.  I told DH my response would be to lock her in her room for a few weeks.  (clearly, not a well thought out response... but that would be my first thought.)
  • I saw it. I would still be locked away if I said that to my mother when I was a teenager. Holy crap. And I just want Lynne to stand up for herself already. DO SOMETHING. Stop trying to be her best friend. Ugh. SO aggravating to watch. I'm certainly not a parenting expert, but there has GOT to be a better method than what she's been doing.
  • I can't even WATCH the Lynn portions of the show.  Those parents are worthless!  Did you see last week?  When she told her daughter "no, you can NOT go out tonight" .... then the daughter went out to eat with friends?  Total BS.  DH and I were dying- we would be in our car, in our ugliest pajamas and slippers, going into the restaurant to embarrass the hell out of our bratty kid if she tried that.  GAH!  They keep saying "we've been nothing but nice to her!"  DUH- maybe that's your problem, foos!  You're parents, not BFFs.

On a side note, did you know that couple is facing bankruptcy and has been evicted twice in the past year for non-payment of rent?  My parents live in OC and it's been in the local papers a few times.  Gee, maybe the mother/daughter plastic surgery wasn't so necessary??

Those ladies are all total frauds.  Except Vicki.  I like Vicki now that she dropped Tamara and is nice to Don.  :)

  • I watched it.  My DH actually likes to watch it too, but we always freak out on the Lynn parts.  I did call my mom a b! in high school and I got the sh*t slapped out of me and was grounded for weeks as I should have been.  It is so frustrating to see parents get trampled by their own children.  Grow a backbone!  Alexa starts her non-tear crying act and Lynn and her husband start apologizing to her...wtf??

Surprise  Um, might be time to move out of the OC.  Or maybe take the kids BMWs, or cell phones away.  Wow, that is really sad.  The previews for next week looked like they were being served with an eviction notice.
  • I didn't watch, but I saw a few seconds while channel surfing- I'm sure I'll see a rerun soon when DH isn't home.  ;)

Lynn doesn't allow the maid to vacuum near her daughters rooms when they're sleeping in.  She allows them to drink "just to relax" and like pp mentioned, the mother/ daughter plastic surgery grosses me out.  Sure Gretchen may not be the BEST person to step in and say something, but at least she had the balls to actually do something.  Lynn is totally setting them up for a very bumpy road as adults.

I think I dislike Tamara more, though.

Totally agree.  Its kind of hard to feel sorry for you when you're living the life of luxury.

  • I haven't seen this week, but in last week's episode, I was shocked that the girl was mad that her parents were imposing rules because they hadn't before. She kept saying "Why now?". Um, because you are not doing what you are supposed to do. The concept of consequences meant nothing to her.

I have a hard time listening to any of those OC kids talk, though, because of the valley girl accents and the inability to spit out a sentence without fifty "like"s and "ohmygod"s.

Me too.  I've gotten to the point where I just fast forward through anything with her and her daughters because it drives me too crazy to watch.  The part last week where they told the daughter not to go out and then she just went ahead and went out anyways was the last straw for me.  I can't even imagine.  Not even just my parents - my entire family would've been lined up to kick my ass!
