Need ideas for bday party

Hi,

1st time on this...hope you can help. My husband will be turning 28 in a couple of months and wanted to throw him a surprise party.  Im thinking it would be unexpected because Im assuming people expect it on their 30th.  Can you think of any ideas? Ive been doing some research and found a) hosting a themed party at your own place, b) renting a function room, c) amusement park or bowling alley (i guess to do things that he use to do when he was younger???)

A bowling party could be fun and easy to make a surprise -- i.e. he'll just think you are going bowling.  Some places offer party packages and private lanes.  For a theme party at your place, think about what his interests are.  What would he enjoy?  Or you can even do a nice cocktail party at home. Get him out of the house somehow and when he comes home, surprise!

I agree with PP about your husband's interest dictating the theme.  

Is he a sports fan?  Maybe make it casual with burgers and pizza and have everyone where team t-shirt or jersey.

Is he a foodie?  How about a quick cooking lesson?

Is he a gamer or a music fan?  Maybe a Rock Band tournament?

what does he like to do now? do a themed party. those r always fun. i have themed parties for the kids and it always crosses my mind to do a more adult themed one. like a luau or somethign like that. what about a murder mystery party? if you google it you can actually buy a package and host your own. it gives you all the info and scrpits and all. that would be really fun. good luck
