Lorelai ~ kitchen question
I stumbled across this on a blog I follow today.....
Backsplash
Is this reasonable and able to withstand time? I mean it looks great and all but I have a feeling that something so inexpensive just wouldn't last. What is your professional opinion.
Re: Lorelai ~ kitchen question
These look really nice (first thought)!
BUT... I think -(although it looks great!)-over time and the fact that it's just up with foam sticky stuff, that particles, etc, could get behind those tiles-and then there might be a bit of a mess there. You'd have to really make sure you have some exact tight joints.
I am reading all of the reviews-even the ones on Amazon.com and almost 100% are saying they love this product. For the $, might not be a bad option. For cleanability-it says window cleaner. I'd just have to remember to not use any scratchy pads when cleaning. AND let others know-like my mother-who also might use the space or want to help clean up after a big meal, you know?
I would think-if you were doing this for resale-it'd be great! If you were doing this for the long haul... I'd be skeptical. I might just forward it to my sales mgr and see her thoughts. The reviews said they were thin and that you had to be careful to not use too much liquid nails or the like IF you used any at all. Another review mentions she didn't use liquid nails and they were falling off.
Hmmm... let me run it by her... will get back to you.
(my first thought is no, though, they won't last through the long haul, but again, I'm practical when it comes to things like this)
I LOVE THAT LOOK!
I'm thinking that they wouldn't be a good investment over time considering how rickity the set up is.
I've had my eye on some copper tiles for our kitchen backsplash for a while now . . . this just made me wish we had the money to do some more improvements around here.
I love the look too and ultimatley I would want copper tiles. My MIL has a copper and green kitchen and it is amazing.
