Hi,
I know you are a social worker.....do you work for DCF? What area office - I am applying for an internship at the Weymouth one in May.
Can I ask you what you meant by MA paying the legal fees? The legal fees of the adoption process, right?
I already knew they paid for in state tuition. Which isn't that good of a deal, actually, because most of the money to go to a state college is actually fees, not tuition. Gotta love it. :-)
H and I are planning to adopt older children in a couple of years (once we get a bigger house) and once I finish the MSW. I'm sure that DCF has a long waiting list for older children?
Thanks in advance! I am sure I will be able to ask all these questions in May but I'm too curious/excited to wait!
Re: **melpfaff**
Hi.. Yes, I do work for DCF. I work in the Central region, so I am not near Weymouth. I hear it's not a bad office. GL w/ your internship.
For adoption: If you adopt through DCF, DCF pays your legal fees. I think that is for the hassle of dealing with legal risk cases and some potentialy special needs children. You could also be eligible for an Adoption Tax Credit.
Yes, I know college fees are expensive, but soemthing is better than nothing, right?
