Best deep dish in Chicago?
Does it exist??? The hubs and I are visiting for the weekend and we sure could use your recommendations! Thanks in advance. If it helps, we're staying in the loop, and a rail is nearby, so we can travel.
Re: Best deep dish in Chicago?
My personal favorites are Giordano's and Gino's East. They both have a few downtown locations.
A lot of people are die-hard Lou Malnati's fans. It's also good, but it's just not my personal favorite. There's one downtown location (at 800 S. State).
I would steer clear of Uno's. It's the original, so it attracts a lot of people, but I think the other three have outdone them. In fact, Lou worked for Uno's but then left to start his own.
My vote is for Lou Malnati's but my husband is a big meat-lover and claims Gino's East is the best. We've tried them all and all recommendations are great to get your taste of "Chicago-style!"
Enjoy!
My faves - 1. Lou Malnatis crust. Also, if you like tomatoes.
2. Gino's east
3. Pizzeria uno
4. Giordanos
Pizzeria Due is my favorite touristy place and Burt's is by far the best in the world, but it's way out in the suburbs so if you come with a car, I would say it's worth the trip!
Incidentally do not get the hype about lou's.
