Does certified organic seed = non-GMO?

Re: Does certified organic seed = non-GMO?
Ok...I just checked the website for the brand I was looking at and it states the organic seeds are all non-GMO.
But I still have the question....in general does organic seed have to mean non-GMO? Seems like it would, but this is my first planting so I've never given it much thought. I know certified organic food means it doesn't contain GMO so it stands to reason that seeds would be the same.

This is correct, for now. BioTech companies, like Monsanto, are releasing new GMO produce every year, and it's only a matter of time until organic produce is contaminated, and then there won't be any more non-GMO seeds. There's already GMO corn, soy, canola, cotton, and sugar beets. So if you're eating anything that doesn't specifically say "cane sugar," you're eating GMO sugar. Monsanto is pressing for GMO alfalfa, a primary feed for animals, as we speak. GMO alfalfa is especially dangerous, because it's a perrenial. So it's pollinated by bees. Those bees will spread the GMO traits to organic alfalfa, and any other plants that are susceptible to cross-breeding with alfalfa. Once organic alfalfa is contaminated, Monsanto will say "see look? Organic crops are already GMO, why not release that restriction for all GMO products?" And POOF, our avability to eat non-GMO food will be gone forever.
