Rave: Always Infinity (may be TMI)

Okay, so one of things I dreaded about post-partum life was having to wear Maxi Pads.  I am a tampon girl all.the.way. and have been since I first got my period at 11 years old!  If I must, I will wear a panty liner, begrudgingly, I just cannot stand the feeling of a liner or pad.  Ick.  So I resolved myself to having to suffer for weeks post partum since tampons are forbidden.

I stocked up on several items before my induction, including these new pads by Always.  They are called Affinity Overnights.  Click this link to see how they work.  They are basically SUPER thin (like a panty liner) and made of some sort of material that absorbs 10 times it's weight.  They are AWESOME.  They are priced higher than regular old nighttime maxi pads but in my opinion, so worth it (and you all know I am a budgetzilla).  So...mamas-to-be and anyone else here that needs to wear a pad, you might want to check them out!

  • Yes!! I used these as well and they were great!!!
  • I wish I'd known about these sooner.  I h.a.t.e wearing pads.

I had a problem with the pad sticking to my stitches.  I tried positioning the pad differently and changing it very frequently but nothing helped.  My midwife suggested putting lanolin cream on the side of the pad where it was sticking and I found it really helped.

  • Rave here too! These were great!
  • Awwww I hope that these (or some version of them) is sold in Australia...I'm really dreading the post-partum bleeding because of the whole no tampons rule (bizarre as it may sound, it was actually one of the worst parts of miscarrying...just taking something awful and making it even worse, you know?).

  • hi hi hi =)

i actually discovered these during my wedding week.... i can't wear tampons unfortunately. even though i want to and used to, they give me problems. my flow is extremely heavy (and for the full 7 days), so even if i wear tampons, the super absorbant ones and change them frequently, i still leak so much. i was wearing both tampons and pads, but then when i thought about it and looked at my wallet, it didn't make any sense to wear both. so i only wear pads now.

anyway, i love love love these! it makes me feel more normal and i can go about living my life without worry during TOM.... =)

i was going to do a rave in my married bio/knot/nest but i never have.... heheheh =)
