Shampoo bars

I've never used bar shampoo and was curious what others experiences are. The maker of my favorite natural bar soap makes ones for hair and body I was thinking of trying when my shampoo runs out. The thing that makes me hesitant is the "adjustment period" noted on their website when switching to natural shampoos.

Re: Shampoo bars

  • I actually switched to bar shampoo this summer.  I was also worried about an "adjustment" period but didn't have one!  I love my shampoo (from a local maker) but was also very happy with the first one I tried.  I can go a couple days without washing my hair and it doesn't get greasy, which happened when I used "normal" shampoo.  I also don't need to use conditioner anymore!  I would definitely recommend giving it a try!
  • I tried J.R. Liggett's and really wanted to like it but it didn't do anything for me.  I have thick, curly hair and it left it blah, lifeless and dried out.

  • Yeah, I imagine it depends on your hair type.  My hair is pretty fine, not very thick, and a little longer than chin length.  If you have longer hair, I can see how it would get tangled and maybe not work as well.
