macbook question

i want to get a new laptop and have decided that i'll convert and get a macbook :-). this will be my first mac purchase. for those of you who have macs, did you get iwork or ms office for mac? also, do you recommend getting the 3 yr protection plan? are there any other programs or accessories that i should get?

I have both iwork and Office.  I prefer Office since that's what I'm used to.  I think AppleCare is worth it.

Yay! You're coming to the Mac side! We have the ms office for Mac and it's fine for our needs. I looooove iPhoto. Def get the protection plan, it's worth the headache if you need any help.

I got Office, since that's what I'm used to, and what I use at work. 

I think that the AppleCare is always worth it.  I actually didn't get it this time, since I'm now married to a man that can pretty much fix any laptop (he just fixed my friend's that a computer repair shop told him was unfixable....he fixed it in two days.), but normally I'd recommend it.

same as pp...i got Office just b/c I was familar with it & I definitely believe in Applecare.  It has been a lifesaver for me!

That is awesome E, you will loooooove having a Mac and won't ever want to go back   I agree about the Apple Care for sure.  And hey, if you ever want to make an Apple photo book you can now, it's super easy and the layouts are so adaptable.

Thanks for the feedback!! I think I'll get the Office for Mac. Just found out we have an employee purchase program and can buy it for $10 for a single computer home use :-). OK, i'll get the protection plan too :-).

 Tara - yes, i'm looking forward to making many photobooks :-).
