How was your weekend?
What are you looking forward to most this week?
Re: Monday Already!
Good Morning E! How was your weekend? Mine was alright. I was able to visit with my friend and her new son for a bit which was really nice. K and I ran some errands and made a quick trip to BRU to fix some registry stuff. Sunday was another day of errands mostly however we did buy the crib mattress!! Yay for checking something off my to-do list :-p
This week is a bit hectic for me but I am looking forward to our all day maternity/birth class on Saturday. Well, ok, maybe not the 'all day' part :-p
Morning.
The weekend was good...pretty low key. Mostly worked on our bathroom (see blog for progress.)
This week, eh. Suppossed to be our first IUI, but today's morning monitoring was not promising. We might end up skipping this month on the RE's advice, depending on the results of today's bloodwork. In his words, "not worth thawing it out". I'm glad we went with the low dose of Clomid, but C's follicles didn't look good at all (there's only one of any good size and this is CD 18...she naturally, per temps, Os around 19/20, but he said she should have been at least here by CD15 with the meds). So we'll see I guess. Kind of disappointing, but makes me glad we opted for the more medical route.
J - I can hardly believe you are getting close enough for birth class!! so crazy! congrats on checking off that to-do list
E - I'm sorry to hear about the follies. I'm sure the excitement of your first try makes it even more of a bummer. i'll keep my fingers crossed for you guys.
S - sorry to hear you guys are still struggling with colds. I hate all the germs this time of year. But, a mobile baby? How fun! Your little girl is incredible
We had a nice weekend all around.
Friday A got the call from daycare that Sprout had the stomach bug and that he had gone through 3 of his spare outfits in an hour
So, she left work early to pick him up and i met her at home with pedialyte, tylenol, and a dvd. He was running a fever so I dosed him and set him up on the couch with a bucket, his "special juice", and the movie...despite the tummy ache, he was so excited for this special treat (we are strict mommies and he only gets milk at home and usually only 1 TV show in the morning.) The good news is that daycare got the worst of his stomach bug. He didn't get sick at all for us and was 100% back to himself by the next morning.
So, Saturday we had a mellow morning. Andrea played with the kids and I did some cleaning/laundry. We went to the library for a bit to work on an early literacy program and the rest of the day was low-key at home (i got to do some cooking for the freezer
).
Sunday morning we went to church then met up with our lesbian moms group for a playdate at a children's museum. Sprout did great and Rosebud was the star of the show, being the littlest one there. Then it was home for nap (for all of us!), grocery shopping, and out to eat for dinner.
What i'm looking forward to most is a tie between family bounce night at this indoor inflatable bounce place (Sprout is going to LOVE it) and Friday which is Parent's night out at my gym. A glass of wine and non-kid-related conversation sounds great right now

We took an impromptu trip to Vegas with DW's family. We ended up staying the night because everyone else wanted to gamble and said they would leave if we left. It was DW's first time there so I took her to see the pirate show at Treasure Island, the water show at the Bellagio, and the canals at the Venetian. DD loved the shows and was a trooper walking the strip with us.
This week I'm looking forward to getting back to running (if the doctor clears me this morning) and getting my taxes back. We just had them done on Wednesday and they are already pending in my bank account!
Two Mommies Healing Hearts
Friday - Stayed in. Watched Monsters, Inc for the 1001 time, played Wii, and had a picnic in the living room. L and I were exhausted and went to bed shortly after the kids.
Saturday - Took the kids to breakfast and then to sports class. We went to a paint-your-own-pottery place. L took them to see Alvin and the Chipmunks movie and gave me 90 minutes of alone time to hang out in the bookstore. Ahhh. By then the snow was really coming down and the roads were horrible. It took forever to get home, but it gave the kids a chance to nap in the car so it was fine. Our friend who was going to come over to drink and play games got stranded at work and couldn't come - but that was fine since L wasn't feeling great. We watched a documentary about A Chorus Line after the kids went to bed (yea, we are theater geeks.)
Sunday - I shoveled out the driveway/stairs/cars and must have pulled something. Ouch. We had a lazy morning at home, which is unusual for us, but very nice. Met the boys' godfather and his wife for lunch and then walked around the mall. Made the weekly pilgrimage to Costco. Both kids took a too short nap and were dragging, so we put on our pjs early and watched Cloudy with a Chance of Meatballs in our bed. We put the kids to bed early - which totally backfired and they were up for 2 hours playing doctor and singing. Last night was the first night L has slept in our bed since her surgery 4 weeks ago (she's had to sleep in the chair) - it was weird sharing the bed with someone again!
I am looking forward to going over to our friends' house on Wednesday night to let our kids play together while we have dinner and play some card games. It makes for a later night - but very fun.
A pretty relaxed weekend. Bought (washed, put away) the last of the baby stuff we needed to pick up, took the dog for walks, went grocery shopping, and hung Gwen's wall letters.
My BH started getting painful this weekend too. Enough to notice, but not enough to stop me from whatever I'm doing.Maybe I don't have a heightened sense of smell, but I've never smelled any vagina on my pants. -- TSD
Bloggity Blog - You know you want to...
We had a nice weekend.
Playdate, park, family time and finishing up birthday invitations on Friday. Relaxing around the house Saturday and visiting with my mom yesterday. She begged to know what name we are going to give PBS IF things go well. We broke down and told her and she loved it! That made me insanely happy. When we left she put her hand on my cheek and told me to enjoy my family. I cannot explain how happy that made me.
how wonderful

::tears:: I'm so happy for you!
LOVE THIS.
Oh that is just delightful and touching. Keep that moment with you for when you have tough days. What a lovely interaction!
Duchess - so sweet. Thank you for sharing, that is really wonderful
Weekend was good. Jen worked again all day on Saturday. Boo. I finally made it to yoga, and I loved it. I'm definitely going again this week. It was an 8:30 class and by the time I got home around 10:00 it was already very snowy, so I was happy to stay home for the rest of the day and work on cleaning and organizing and laundry, although I didn't get too much done. Then yesterday we had a lazy morning at home and met up with friends in the evening to see A Single Man, get drinks, and have dinner at a yummy French place I've been wanting to go back to for a couple of years. Looking forward to having my leftover steak frites for dinner tonight. I'm a bit hungover and worn out this morning but considering how little I normally drink and how much wine I enjoyed last night, I think I'm doing pretty good.
Looking forward to yoga, running again for the first time since Thanksgiving (even if it's only a mile), and going to Monticello next weekend.
Duchess. . . how sweet!
The weekend was pretty low key, Julie had to work Saturday and Sunday. So I spent some time alone, I fractured my foot Wednesday night, so that really hindered the weekend. However, Friday we hung out, and I hobbled out to dinner.
Saturday, I met a friend and my sister for sushi, we also wandered around Hobby Lobby for sometime. After DW was off, BIL and his wife came over and they all played Just Dance for the Wii, the game rocks, and I was really sad I couldn't play.
Sunday I took family photos for friends of BIL, however, I am pretty dissappointed in how they turned out, so I'm going to offer them a reshoot, even though it wasn't entirely my fault. I just don't know.
We also booked our tickets to Vegas this weekend. We are going twice this year, once for my 21st, and once for FIL's surpirse 50th. He doesn't know that he's going, and he surely doesn't know that his kids will be there. I'm very excited, I can't wait for the 22nd of Feb to come. I want vacation NOW!
Dutchess... can't wait until she is yours and we can all know the name. is it going to confuse LMC if you change PBS's name?
Well I posted how my weekend started. Sunday we went to Carols moms house and did laundry, showered and washed all the babies bottles so we can get through the next couple of days.
Today Carols mom went in for cardiac cathererization and ended up having three stents put in her heart. She seems to be doing well, but is in the hospital overnight. We can't go visit because we can't take Annie in with the H1N1 visitor ban on anyone under 18.
I am actually looking forward to the fact we are supposed to get warmer weather by the end of the week and maybe our pipe will thaw.
~Kennedy
Cymru- I hope Carol's mom is okay. I will be thinking of her and still sending pipe thawing vibes your way.
LMC won't be confused. We have never called PBS by her legal name. When people do we are always kind of shocked to hear it. We have always had a nickname for her. All of our friends and family and therapists use her nickname. It's funny, all of our holiday cards came addressed to us, LMC and "nickname" LOL! When we settled on a name we introduced that. PBS responds to it and LMC recognizes it, but can't say it just yet.
