Since DD's started crawling around my house I've realized how much it really freaks me out when I think of the things she could be ingesting as far as cleaners we've used on our carpeting and laminate floors.
I want to start small with my transition to rid my house of certain things. I'd like to maybe get a good all over cleaner for kitchen and bath, something I can just keep in a spray bottle under the sink, and something I can use on my laminate floors, as well as something to use on messes my cat's been making lately on our carpeting.
Does anyone have any suggestions, cleaning recipes they'd like to share, or even book recommendations? Thanks!
Re: Household cleaning - I'm new to this
I use these all purpose spray, soft scrub, window cleaner and furniture polish recipes. I use Dr. Bronner's for the liquid soap and add 10 drops or so of tea tree oil to the all purpose spray.
Tired after a long morning of hiking and swimming.
I'd love to make my own, but don't have much time or patience, so I've switched to all Seventh Generation Products. You can get them at Target. I really like them and I love how the warning on them is: Not meant for consumption, but if consumed, drink a glass of water.
Much better than call Poison control in my mind.
Good suggestion, thanks! How are they cost wise?
Seventh Gen is pretty inexpensive - usually less than $3 a bottle. If you go to their website, you can find lots of $1 off coupons. If you join recyclebank.com, you get 100 points for signing up, and you can redeem those points for a free bottle of the all purpose cleaner.

We used Method products mostly. Their all-purpose cleaner works great on our tiled kitchen counters, and on smudges on the wall. I really like their hardwood floor cleaner and mop (oMop). Toliet bowl cleaner works good too. I do still use bleach in the shower and tub b/c I just don't feel like it's clean if I don't.
