Open letter to my BCP

Dear BCP,

WTELMF?!  I take you religiously at noon every day.  My cell phone alarm goes off, I take you, and (::crosses fingers::) you do your job.  Why, mid-cycle, am I getting EWCM?  Why is my body screaming "FERTILE"?!  Last time I trusted a pill, DD appeared.  Now I'm supposed to rely on you again when all signs say otherwise?  I especially appreciate these signs after I spent most of the weekend horizontal.

Highly annoyed,
Nico Leg

P.S.  If I end up pregnant, I'm donating it to the closest WWer.

Re: Open letter to my BCP

  • Since you don't have the greatest track record with the pill, perhaps you should try something else?  I'd be all about the Mirena if I could have it.

  • I don't really want to do anything that ... permanent right now.  We're using the pill and spermicide, but I'm buying condoms on the way home and telling H to stay away until AF appears.

  • Depo isn't all that permanent :-)

Condoms sound like a good choice to double up w/.

  • i love my Mirena. i have had it for almost 3 years and I don't get a period anymore. it's cheaper than BCP (except generic) if you have it for a couple of years. Estrogen in the BCP gives me migraines, so the Mirena is perfect for me.
  • I'm gonna need your body to tell mine how that is supposed to work. TIA!
    .
  • I've loved the 2 years I've had my IUD. I won't miss it too much when it comes out, but it's been wonderful to not have to think about my BC.
  • TT, when are you having it taken out? You will be TTC then?
    .
  • Honestly, I was kind of waiting to see if we file for the big D or not.  If we divorce, I'm going off BCP - they aren't agreeing with my BFing hormones.

And IUD commercials make me cringe.  I can't think of one actually being in there 24/7.  I'd have that "Ouch! *wince*" face on non-stop.

  • Oh. Sorry I didn't realize.. Well I hope everything works out for you, whichever outcome it is you want.
