BF pulled a muscle in his back yesterday when he was towel drying his hair after his shower....it was pretty sore yesterday. We got some of the BenGay patches and some Icy Hot cream.
He moved this morning when I was headed out the door and however he moved made it worse.
Anything else we can do to make it better?
He is a contract worker so he does not have health insurance. ugh...
Re: pulled muscle...help!
Muscle relaxer medication is the best thing. He may see some comfort with epsum salt bath and a deep tissue massage.
Alleve works for the pain. My doc usually tells me two alleve twice a day for two weeks.
The other thing that Duck's stepmom swears by is adding two cups of apple cider vinegar to a hot bath and soaking in it. He'll smell like a tossed salad, but she swears by it.
RICE
rest, ice, compression, (elevation... but won't work for a back).
aleve is great for muscles. I think it's every 4 hours. Drink lots of water. A Dr. can't do anything for a pulled muscle so hopefully he'll be able to take it easy and take care of it at night when he gets home.
