Animal welfare training raises the bar

Animal Welfare Training Raises the Bar "humane livestock-handling programs are vital to the business strategy of all meat-and poultry-processing companies today"... "Nowadays, adherence to a well-developed and detailed animal-welfare program is far more than "the right thing to do," rather it is an unrelenting expectation from customers and society alike."

and

Seeing Green "customers of processors and consumers are demanding to know that they are also doing the right thing behind the scenes and up and down the food-supply chain."

Even though I know they aren't talking about the level of sustainability and humane care I choose to support, its nice to see stuff like this in mainstream, very non-green/socially conscious media.

(I didn't link because you have to register for the site, and the articles aren't that interesting!)
