Doggie meet and greet!

This Saturday we are going to meet these lovely little guys:

http://www.petfinder.com/petnote/displaypet.cgi?petid=11492522

We've been doing a lot of research, searching and prep for our step into dog ownership, and we think these guys might be our match!

We'll get to meet and spend some time with them on Saturday, and if we hit it off, we'll adopt them in about a week and a half when we return from vacation.  It would be great timing because C will have a day or two off between old and new jobs to get some extra bonding time in with them before they are left alone while we're both at work.

I'm so excited!

  • Awww...they're sooo cute!  How sweet of you to think of adopting an older dog, not many people are willing to do that.

  • The woman at the shelter (who is a vet tech) said that the Oliver, who is the older one, really is in great health and has some great years ahead.  I can't believe the owners almost put him down!  I think it's really great that they are trying to keep them together so that Oliver can enjoy his golden years with his younger BFF :-)  And then Sam is only 5, so he certainly has a long life ahead of him.

I can't wait to meet them!!

  • oh, yay!! they are adorable - i'm so excited for you and C!!
rescue dogs are the best!! of course, i'm totally biased ;)    adopting lilly was hands-down the most wonderful, rewarding experience of our lives. tough at times, but soooo worth it. and, as silly as it sounds, I'm really glad we got a dog before kids because i've seen A's "parenting" style in action and we've gotten into a good rythm of co-"parenting".  Of course i know that kids are a whole different ball of wax, but its very good preparation, imo :)
  • Aww! They are so adorable! You are going to be such good mommies.
  • Aww, they are so adorable!

I would love for us to all have a Boston/CT Doggie GTG, how cute would that be!
  • Such cuties! Very exciting news!

  • Brit,

I am soooooo happy for you. Julie and I have a Maltese/Poodle mix. We LOVE him, he is great, and they are very very playful. Your going to love them both so much, now every time you go the store you'll HAVE to check out the doggy section.

    Good luck. They are adorable.

  • They are so cute!!!!!

We adopted both of our rescues when they were older. Murphy was 7 and Rylee was 12. They are now almost 10 and 14 and still doing great. Older dogs need mommies too.

    Good luck with them!
