Really dumb wine question!

OK, we have chardonnay, cabernet sauvignon and pinot grigio. Which ones need to be chilled in the frig??
I think white wine is chilled and red is not? The pinot looks white to me. Are the others white or red. Ugh, we are not wine drinkers! Thanks for your patience with my dumb question!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Re: Really dumb wine question!

  • Chill the pinot and the chardonnay.

  • Personally, I prefer all of my wine to be at cellar temp (55-ish degrees) and not room or kitchen temp.

I'd chill them all, overnight, and then pull the cabernet sauvignon out of the fridge about 10-20 minutes before you serve it and the whites out right before you're ready to serve it.

There is nothing worse, IMO, than warm wine!
  • You want to chill the chardonnay and pinot grigio and pull them out of the fridge twenty minutes before serving.  The cabernet could be placed in the fridge for twenty minutes before serving to bring it slightly below room temperature.
