First I have to say I have the most patient and gentle dog on earth. He is a 10 year old 150 pound Irish wolfhound mix. (he looks like a red wolfhound- his pics are on my blog if you want to see him) I don't leave him and Annie alone, but they are so fun to watch when they are together.
Annie loves Murphy. She sits by him and talks to him and "pets" him. ( its kind of like tapping) Now she figured out he has tags on his collar. She is fascinated and is always digging around his neck to find them.
So Annie was just sitting on the floor playing with her toys and Murph came up and started licking her head. Now all her hair is standing straight up in some sort of alfalfa/ mohawk blend. And let me tell you dog spit works way better than hair gel.... it is staying!
Guess it will be bathtime soon.
No point to this really.... just loving my family this morning.... even the furry members.

Re: My daughter and her dogs relationship
I love it!! isnt it wonderful to see how much they enjoy each other?
almost every morning Lilly (our dog) wakes Sprout with a kiss on his face and every evening our littlest cat joins us for book time in sprout's bed where she purrs and purrs. its awesome

So cute! I bet Anni and Murph will be friends for a long time!
I'm really interested to see how my dogs react to the baby. Our girl dog (the therapy one that comes to work with me) can be super jealous but not in an aggressive way. Like if K and I hug she trys to get attention too. She also hoards toys so I have a feeling if baby stuff is missing we'll find it in her room.
My man...also named Murphy....is the protector. Again, not agressive, unless someone was to come after me....but he watches everything. Even now he lays by the crib and sleeps in the nursery closet. He can't quite figure out what is going on, but he knows change is coming.
Maybe I don't have a heightened sense of smell, but I've never smelled any vagina on my pants. -- TSD
