my bulbs are coming up!

Okay ladies- help me. I'm in the DC area. We had 5-6 inches of snow last weekend (in addition to the blizzard of December). They're calling for more snow this weekend....but yet I have several green stems popping up from my flower bed!

I seriously planted hundreds of bulbs around my house, so I don't know if they're daffodils (I think it's these, but not sure), tulips or hyacinths as these were the earliest-in-season bloomers that I planted.

But my question is- are they going to survive? it seems WAY too early to have bulb flowers here.

TIA!

Re: my bulbs are coming up!

  • Don't worry - they'll be just fine. My daffodils are usually always the first bulbs that sprout. Mine typically bloom mid-February. I'm in zone 7b.

  • they are probably your daffodils, mine started coming up in January, but wit the lack of sunshine they aren't really growing at this point.  My dad said they are very hardy and he's been growing them for years :)
