I admit to being a bit of a ketchup junkie...but I'm trying to cut as much HFCS and GMO from our diets as possible (as well as sugar). What brand do you use? And no...I'm not going to make my own (although I might be brave enough to try it this summer if my first attempt at tomatoes is successful).

Trader Joe's. Nom nom. It's so good.
Whole Foods (365 brand) organic ketchup.
Learning to start all over again... Blog
Well, the TJ's definitely tastes different. We also have Heinz Organic in our fridge, and that is pretty good as well - DH prefers it.
i did not know they made this.
I use it in and on meatloaf. The occasional fried egg sandwich. And the once a year I cook sloppy joes. Yeah, pretty much a dead animal accompaniment.
So I can completely see why you don't see it as necessary!
We do mayo on fries. We use it on tator tots & fries, and DH likes it on his eggs & sometimes in his soup.
I get whichever is on sale. They taste the same as normal ketchup to me.
I won't eat eggs without ketchup, also on burgers, meatloaf, fries, steak sandwiches, etc.
I eat low carb so I eat a lot of meat...and I like ketchup on almost all of it...but feel weird sitting around eating my locally sourced, grassfed animal with ketchup containing HFCS. I don't eat potatoes on my diet plan so fries are the one thing I don't eat with ketchup
We use Heinz organic.
We eat a lot of veggie burgers, sweet potato fries, roasted potatoes, etc.
His soup!? I think we have a winner for most unusual ketchup use!!
Yeah I guess I don't really eat any of the things people listed, well except eggs, but that's just crazy!
I haven't tried organic ketchup, but would like to if I can find some. I made sloppy joes last week and needed ketchup, but was out and i made some instead. I had to use tomato paste from a can (organic tomato paste
) I don't know that I love it (since we haven't really used it on burgers) but it is a good substitute when added to recipes.
In a medium bowl combine all of the ingredients with a wire whisk. Blend well. Scrape the mixture into a pint-sized, resealable container. Chill overnight, to blend the flavors.
Yes, DH can eat some *interesting* combinations sometimes. I can't even stand to see ketchup on eggs.
This is sacrelige to a person from Pittsburgh.
I put ketchup on all forms of potatoes, eggs, meatloaf, sandwiches, BBQ sauce . . . that's all I can think of for now, but I use it quite a lot.
