OK, i have 2 seconds then i have to leave for a junior league meeting for my charity fundraiser, but my boss just fired one of the 3 attorneys here, leaving me with one other attorney (other than my boss). so in 5 weeks when i go out on maternity leave, it is my boss and 1 attorney.
such bad planning on so many levels. on top of it all, he had ME sit with her and go over all her clients before she left. not only was that awful (she is a friend of mine) but HELLO, i'm leaving in 5 weeks and will have to explain it all to my co-worker.
he is paying her through the end of the month, so i'm not sure why he didn't just hold on to her through my leave. it will make my last 5 weeks so stressful trying to get everything finsihed and life on the rest of the firm so much tougher while i'm out.
UGH!!! he is rick-***-u-lous!!
Re: work vent
thanks, ladies!
we all went to lunch together and i thought everything was fine. we came back and i got on a conference call from 1:30 - 2:30. during that time he decided to fire her and did. he did talk to my other CW briefly, but didn't really let her offer her opinion. we were definitely slow in january, but that is always the case after the holidays. he and she just butted heads a lot and i think he reacted instead of thinking it through.
He said he would just hire a contract attorney to fill in when needed. i just don't see it being that easy. plus, i'm starting to get more tired and worn out by the end of the day, and now i feel pressure to take over this girls work.
it just sucks!
thanks for letting me vent!
good news, though. i got to talk to my dad tonight! first time since before his hearing last wednesday. i could tell he loved talking to me too. it definitely was a great way to end an otherwise crappy day.
That's such a bummer. I'm sorry its causing you such unnecessary stress at work
but YAY for talking to your dad! Sometimes its like they just know when to call. I can be in the midst of the worst day ever and the phone will ring and it'll be my brother and suddenly all the bad melts away for at least a little bit
