Financial difficulties dust needed
DH and I are having some difficulties related to finances at the moment and could use some of that Nestie Dust. It seems to work miracles! Any extra dust to send this way?
Re: Financial difficulties dust needed
Married and it feels so good!
ugh... that is no fun. I'm sorry.
If it makes you feel any better... we've been there. Our 'newlywed' year DH was unemployed 359 of 365 days and it was very difficult.
Hopefully things turn around for you guys pronto!!!!

$$$$ dust heading your way!
I feel ya. We had a horrible newlywed year. As everyone tried to tell me while we were going through the loss of a parent just after our wedding and the financial/legal stresses that came with it, if you can make it through tough times when you just got married, you can do it forever! Now, a few years out, I do feel that it strengthened our marriage and friendship 100 times over!

I know how you feel, Sarah! I was under/unemployed for half of last year (second lay-off was a week before the wedding). As soon as I got a long term temp gig with decent money, DH lost his regular job. So we decided it was as good a time as any for him to try to turn his backup into a full-time self-employed thing (which we'd talked about for months), and that of course takes time before income is actually coming in. Definitely not what we had in mind for our newlywed year.
Good luck to you!

My 101
it was hard. very very hard. but, we learned about money during that year (and what it felt like to be without). I think there were tons of lessons for us over the last year and has made us very careful and cautious about our financial situation right now.
My feelings were, if this had to happen at any time... it was the best time. We didn't have kids, didn't have a mortgage, didn't live (too) above our means. When we realized that this was going to be a long haul of unemployment we sat down and made some important decisions about our finances. We learned to live (and be happy) with less... and honestly, it's a valuable lesson.
I know it's hard to see light at the end of the tunnel... but it will get better, eventually. It's never a quick fix when it comes to stuff like this - but enjoy being broke and together without the stress that could have potentially brought a few years down the road.
still throwing out 'positive financial energy' to you!
