Vacation- same or different

When you go on vacations to you like to visit the same places frequently or do you like to go to a different place each time?  Why or why not?

We go to the same beach every year with the family for a week. LOVE it.  It's so relaxing because we know where everything is, the good restaurants, etc.  So there's no need to hustle & bustle - we sleep late, play on the beach all day, etc.

Nate & I like to take little vacations for long weekends - we go somewhere different every year.  Last year it was Charleston, Asheville before that...not sure what we're doing this year.

It kind of depends on the year - growing up we went to Boston/New England every summer  to see my mom's family and then every other summer went "out west" - always stopping in South Dakota to see my dad's family but often making it a big two week road trip and seeing other places in the midwest/pacific northwest.  now that we're married - I still like to hit up Boston every summer - even just for a weekend and then our longer vacations we're going to try and mix it up to see more of the country/world!

I guess it depends on the year too. We go to Emerald Isle quite a bit, but it's mostly long weekends. For week-long trips, we typically like to go to different places, but it also depends on the budget.

generally i like to go to different places each time for vacations with the H and then down the road return to our most favorite locations. 

if we just go to the beach or something with family, going to the same beach is just fine with me.

I feel like DH and I haven't had enough vacations to start repeating - I think it will be a long time before we repeat. When we go with our families, though, it's always the same places since our parents own the vacation homes that we go to. Part of the reason my parents bought where they did was b/c the family vacation was in that general area every year.

We usually do one trip to the same place and another trip to a different place very year.

I like going to different places for long vacations, but as far as quick little weekend trips, we tend to go to the same places.

I grew up always going somewhere new

We LOVE exploring new places together! I think DH is sad he missed out on a lot of traveling when he was young by going to the same beach every year.

 

That being said....it is AWESOME to go to the beach with the ILs when it doesn't cost us anything more than gas money!

I love experiencing new places, so I try to pick a different place every time we get away. Which is rare.

The only place we've been to more than once is Orlando (once when we were teens, once as a birthday present to my dad, & as part of our HM).

We always pick different places because we're not the type of people who go on vacation to relax & unwind. We're the up-at-6am, go-go-go, see everything, eat everywhere, people when we're traveling.

Growing up our family vacations tended to be to the same place.  Summer vacation was always to Lake George.  Winter vacation was usually to Florida, though sometimes the locale w/in florida changed.  We went to Sanibel a few years, but Miami most of the time.  We did go to a few exotic locales here and there out of the country, but my parents are both adverse to change so it worked.  Unfortunately, since then Dh and I haven't really had the opportunity to take annual vacations.  The vacations we've been on haven't been repeated though!

We do both. I think there are advantages/disadvantages to doing the same thing and doing something different. We have been to London three times because we have family currently living there. There is so much to do there that I would go back given the opportunity.

We also like to try new things. There are places I have not been that I would love to visit.
