An office affair story
Back when I was in high school/college, I spent my summers as an office assistant for a company my mom's friend owned. There were three of us between the ages of 17-23 who took turns at the reception desk.
All calls for the company came through the reception desk, and we patched them through to the appropriate employee.
One guy, Jeff, had a fiance named Kathy and a girlfriend named Cindy. Both of them called multiple times a day. There was a lot of whispering about how stupid he had to be to not do anything to hide his affair, and everyone kindof wondered whether or not he'd actually get married. When we got a cake a few days before Jeff's wedding, even he seemed wishy-washy about whether or not it would happen. I think he actually said if he got married he'd be on his honeymoon for 2 weeks, and if he didn't get married he'd be back Monday. Well he got married, but Cindy kept calling, and he kept taking the calls.
Several weeks later, one of the other girls (I SWEAR it was not me) was answering phones, and I was standing at the reception desk. Kathy-the-now-wife called, and the other receptionist's conversation went something like "Jeff, sure. Is this Cindy? Oh, sorry Kathy." That right there was the end of Jeff's marriage.
