What is the funniest thing that happened on your wedding day?
I stole this from another board. Can't wait for your answers!
Re: What is the funniest thing that happened on your wedding day?
There is an actual video of mine. Here is the link: http://vimeo.com/6475240
Enjoy! I still laugh everytime I see it
well our entrance was cool... but it was planned.
Secretly, the funniest thing.... my MIL had her shoes died, the night before was a wonderful thunderstorm! My MIL had blue stocking feet for our entire reception. Although I was one to talk my shoes were full of sand from our portraits, but at least no one could see that!
Hmmm, I can't really think of anything super funny off the top of my head. We just had your typical drunk cousin (DH's) dancing the night away with major cleavage, my little brother (was 14 at the time) had a few sips of beer and got a little funny on the bridal party bus ride (shhh! don't tell my mom!), and that's about it.
Our reception did take place during Tropical storm Hanna, so driving back to the bridal suite was interesting and the hotel was on generator power. It was super romantic eating leftovers in the dark watching the storm outside, though.
Our daughter (5) and our nephew (6) were the flower girl and ring bearer. They were supposed to walk down the deck and turn left where the isle was going...well instead they walked straight, passing the isle and everyone was like "this way...come back!" So, I'm around the other side waiting to go down the isle and I'm hearing everyone laughing and I'm like "WHAT are they laughing at! WHAT is going on!" Too bad it wasn't caught on camera.
Other than that, the same nephew went in to the middle of the dance floor during dinner and announced that he was going to do some yo-yo tricks for us (we had tons of toys and candy at the kids table). Well he goes to do this yo-yo trick and imagine my suprise when the yo-yo goes flying out of his hand and whizzing by my head!
Another funny thing that happened was my older brothers drunken speech where he said..and I quote.."Oh my f*cking god! this has been so f*cking great! I love my f*cking sister, I love my f*cking brother, And now I have a new f*cking brother! And I love my f*cking mom! where is she? Oh, there she is, with a martini in her hand..it seems like she always has a f*cking martini in her hand!" (as my mom turns bright red and hands off her martini to someone else) So he just keeps going on repeating those sentences and the DJ tries to take the mic from him and hes like "F*ck this! I want to keep talking, I'll buy another hour! (as he takes out his wallet..), actually I'll buy this whole f*cking place..." Finally, my mom comes up and drags him out of the room. This was so unusual for him because he NEVER swears, gets mad when he hears someone swearing, is so shy..etc. I go walking trying to find him and he yanks me in to the coat closet and cries to me about how hes so happy for me...luckily the speech WAS caught on camera!
LASTLY (my familys crazy) my cousin had my veil on with his sunglasses (at 11pm) and he was like asleep on the front steps of the reception place. And with the excitement of everything, when MH and I went to leave after we thanked all the staff and what not..we went outside and the parking lot was dark and EVERYONE had left! They forgot to take us down the road to our hotel that we were staying in for the night! We started WALKING! when all of a sudden my mom came screeching in to the parking lot to get us!...ohh my...I'm sorry that was sooo long! Hopefully you laughed...:)
Well its funny now since its been over 5 years
BUT....
DH forgot the rings and had to have FIL & BIL run back to the hotel and get them while the girls were making their way over to the site
Hurrican Ivan ruined our outdoor beach ceremony
the photographer stepped on my viel as I was walking down the aisle with my father and ripped it off my head
Oh and the same photographer told my DH's uncle to shut the F up when he was taking our formals... he was a smooth operator!
Having children in a wedding party is always unpredicatable. We had four (two flower girls and two ring bearers). We had a scary moment when my flower girl cousin burned her hand in the salon that morning (went to the hospital, recovered record time)
But then we had a sweet funny with her 3 year old brother, one of the ring bearers. My uncle, his father, was walking me down the aisle. And Little Chris refused to leave his side. He threw a tantrum and wouldn't go down the aisle with his brother (the other ring bearer) or the flower girls. Music got cued, I looked at my uncle, and said "screw it, let's just go". And well, my uncle and Christopher walked me down the aisle. Christopher holding onto the back of my uncle's jacket all the way down the church aisle...hiding. It was pretty darn cute and definitely not planned.
