Have you ever spent the night in an airport?
Re: 2/3
Yes, I have, This past week DH and I went to Nevada to tour the company making our coffee roaster. That is a story in of itself. Anyway, on our way back (Saturday), we caught our connection to Minnesota. When we landed, the boards showed Charlotte -- Cancelled.
The next flight out wasn't till 6 am to Detroit then a connection to Charlotte at 10:10. It was fun to walk around the airport with it empty, but we go no sleep. When we got home (16 hours after planned), we ate and went to bed. It wasn't a terrible experience, it's a good memeory for sure, but it was completely exhausting!
Christmas eve 2006. Chicago O'Hare. Snowed in.
At first I started to say yes, then I realized I was thinking of that Tom Hanks movie where he's an immigrant and lives in the airport... Not me!
I have been stranded for about 16 hours in O'Hare when I was flying home from my summer in London. I wasn't homesick until the last few days I was there, but boy did I want to get home. It felt like an eternity.
I had taken an early morning flight after staying up all night with my new friends. I got to Ohare shortly after I had left London (because of the time change) and then I sat there until about 10:30 at night when I finally got on a flight.
It wasn't overnight, but it sure seemed like the longest day ever!
