I know some of you were interested to hear how it went.
I went for my 1 week follow up appointment today for the Mirena. All went well. I was really surprised that it really DIDN'T hurt like I thought it would. Maybe because I went into it thinking I'd be experiencing a horror movie, I don't know. Getting it put in was uncomfortable, but not unbearable or painful really. That whole day I had spotting and cramps (similar to with a period) and woke up the next day feeling fine. And I've been fine ever since.
So far, liking it! It's weird not taking my birth control pill. I keep feeling like I'm forgetting!

Thats how I felt too. I am supposed to go back for my follow up on Friday, but I think Im going to call and resched it for monday so my mama can go with me and watch Whitley. I just really hope I dont get any of the side effects that I have read that are commonly associated with it.
*TMI warning* The only thing that sucked was that I had to be on my period when they inserted it and the next day I stopped bleeding. everything was a-okay until last last thursday, D and I "did our taxes" and then I started spotting again and it hasnt gone away yet. I dont know if that was what made me start spotting again or just coincidence bec it wasnt the 1st time we had done it since I had it inserted. I plan on asking about it at my follow up.
haha love the "do your taxes"
TMI also:
My doc actually told me that we needed to "be sexually active" before my follow up appointment, in case DH could feel the strings. So I get to the appointment and the nurse takes me to the back to check my weight and all and she's like "do you need to ue the bathroom?" and I said no, and in the next breath she asks "have you been sexually active?" I was like EXCUSE ME?? It just threw me off. So....apparently it's good that you did your taxes because they want to know that!
me too
I'm glad to hear the good reviews. Everything I'd heard about Mirena was such a mixed bag that I wasn't sure what to think about it.
And I'm still lol about "doing taxes". I've heard "doing laundry" but this is a new one!
