What are you getting DH for Valentine's Day?

I'm trying to come up with ideas for Valentine's Day. Any ideas about what you are doing for DH?

  • We don't go all out for Valentine's Day, but I did buy him a Dallas Cowboys clock for the basement - where his pool table, poker table and stuff like that is. We'll probably just go out to dinner that weekend sometime too.

  • I'm still trying to figure that out so I'm glad you asked! Whatever it is, I'm keeping it simple.
  • We don't celebrate it...  we just go to the grocery store the next day and buy some 1/2 price candy.  Stick out tongue
  • We usually buy one gift that is for the both of us.  2 years ago we went away for the weekend in lieu of gifts.  Last year we bought a lot of flowers and bulbs for our yard.  This year, we are buying a cedar chest for our bedroom.  We also splurge and go for a nice lunch or dinner (not on Valentine's but near it, because we don't like crowds).  When we used to buy gifts, I bought him TV on DVD (not very romantic), a 5lb Hershey's personalized chocolate bar... I can't remember anything else.

  • We will probably exchange cards and maybe go out to dinner that weekend sometime but other than that, we don't really do much for it.  DH has sent flowers to me at work in the past but I'm not sure if he will this year since Valentine's Day is on a Sunday.  He's so hard to buy for as it is and his birthday is the week after Valentine's Day so we don't usually do gifts.

  • He's getting new golf clubs soon so I got him some Husker golf stuff.  We are also going to see Chicago.

  • For our first Valentine's Day I made him a fancy dinner.  He usually cooks so it was a real treat.  So we have continued that tradition.  I will plan a meal that includes things we would not usually make and he will help me prepare it (he can't stand not being in the kitchen, although I do make him the sous chef).  We will be doing that next weekend.  In addition we just bought a car, so I think that takes care of that gift.  However, I still want to give him a print of one my b-pics that was his favorite and not very risque.  But I might runout of time on that one!

  • We don't usually celebrate with gifts either.  We exchange cards.

Saturday 2/13  we have a double date with friends.

Sunday 2/14 I think H is making me dinner.

the best thing is it's H's Kelly day on Saturday so he is off all weekend.  We are going to go to drop his car off to get his remote starter fixed and then go work out together.  It will be nice to get to do things together all weekend.

  • Mike doesn't like when people buy him gifts, so it's really hard to get things for him.  Being I'm not working and that his birthday is at the end of the month, I'm getting him his favorite candies.  He isn't a sweet eater, but likes the jelly/gummy candy, so it'll be a nice surprise.  For his birthday, I bought him the new Pearl Jam cd and will pick up the new PSP Silent Hill game.

He talked about going out this weekend and getting me a gift.  I just wanted some flowers and a pretty vase.  I have no clue what he has up his sleeve.

I know we will go out to dinner.  Last year we had plans to go to a really romantic restaurant and then I got sick with the flu.  This year we are absolutely going somewhere, I just have to figure out where I want to go and make a ressie.
