Awkward much?

The FedEx guy just came in our office and started asking me how far along I was, what I was having, etc.  He then proceeded to tell me all about how different sex positions can result in different genders and that it worked for him and his wife.

What do you say to that?  Thanks for the advice; I'll be sure to try it next time?

  • Umm glad that worked out for you, but I think it's too late for that now.
  • Really? that's what he thought was good conversation?

  • yeah, apparently people think that all boundaries fly out of the window when you're talking to a pregnant woman!

  • I really think he was expecting me to say, "oh, well if that's the case, we did it like this so we must be having a boy!"  when all I could say was, "really?  how interesting,"  while thinking, "OMG, get the eff out of my office now, creepster."

  • Welcome to motherhood....all boundaries go out the window for sure! Wait until after you have the baby. You will start hearing all kinds of birth experiences from all kinds of random people! I don't know what people are thinking sometimes!

Me neither.  One of my very good friends won't touch my belly at all (I was trying to get her to feel BS kick one day) but in the next breath asked if she could be in the delivery room.  I told her no as this is not a public event and asked WTH she doesn't want to touch my belly but is a-ok being in the delivery room.  Her answer?  Well, your belly is just really personal space.

    Indifferent

And my hooha is a free-for-all?

  • Oh, my. None of it surprises me except the Fedex guy conversation. Did he want you to reciprocate?

I don't mind the birth stories. Those are kind of interesting sometimes. But who wants to hear about how the baby was conceived?? Creep-o

Ditto, I don't mind hearing people's stories.  But I really don't need to imagine them in the act of conception!

Are we still talking about the skype and a game day decision? I'm trying to be patient.
