WTH at Sarah Silverman and her rant on the Vatican.  Yes, there is money there that could go to other uses.  Of course, that money is tied up in a country that has overhead and investments etc.  Really, the pope should just buy a condo?

Wouldn't a better rant be all of the Hollywood set selling off their bajillion homes in a bajillion places?

Actually, I may have had this rant. I don't know what she said specifically, but I've been really irritated lately with the issues on which the Vatican chooses to focus its resources. I am similarly annoyed with Hollywood, but they made that money: it's theirs, to do with as they please. The Vatican's money was only partially earned. That money they can use to oppose birth control pills and condoms in Africa and whateverthefuck other sexually-focused nonsense they choose - but when I give them money, don't I get to complain that we're not really talking about educating girls in Afghanistan or ensuring that poor countries are allowed access to the education that could someday make them rich?

The part I saw was basically that the Vatican should sell everything, the Pope should move into a condo, and the proceeds should go to end world hunger. 

I highly doubt she's given any money to the Vatican unless it was in the form of tourist $$$
