I know there are a lot of girls over the whole obligatory gift giving in February, but I was curious if you've ever done the whole homemade, crafty, sappy gifts for this or any other holiday. Anything go over particulary well? It may be a long shot, but I thought I'd try.
Signed,
Stupidly in love, overly romantic, new boyfriend-ed Sap
Re: Homemade gifts?
I tried.
He didn't care.
I never tried again.
For MH's birthday the first year we were together, I got a 11x14 photo frame that had a very wide mat and a 4x6 opening in the middle. I cut out the "love is..." comics from the newspaper ( you can also get them online) that pertained to us at the time and glued them to the matting. I then found a cute picture of us to put in the middle where the 4x6 opening was. It still hangs in our bedroom, although the middle picture has since been replaced with a pic of garfield and suzy zoo ...lol I hope this makes sense, I am really tired today
He really liked it and was touched because nobody had ever made him a gift before.
I made a scrapbooky card one year (not very appreciated)
For our anniversary he took a picture of us and framed it with a rhyming poem he wrote. (Big Brownie points for that one)
Post makes me think of a Friends episode, regarding make the presents, make the presents
I made a photo album one year with all of our pictures and special occasions... he liked it.
Another year I made him heart shaped cookies and some cupcake and he loved it.
Me too!
I love homemade gifts for Valentine's Day. Besides making a dinner of only his favorite foods, I also made a book of love/sexytime coupons (those went over REALLY well)
back in the day when we were dating, we made lists of 100 things we loved about each other. i took mine and created a college with photos and gave it to him with a book of fun, silly coupons i made. that went over pretty well
