WW pancake recipe?

It seems like a lot of people here make a lot of their own foods from scratch, so I thought it'd be a good place to ask for a good pancake recipe.  We make pancakes every weekend and use the Bob's Red Mill Whole wheat buttermilk mix but it's pretty expensive (like $4/bag).  I figure that we could mix it together ourselves for cheaper.  What recipes do you use?

Re: WW pancake recipe?

  • I just use the recipe from my Betty Crocker Cookbook and use ww flour instead of all purpose.

    1 cup flour

    1 TBSP Sugar

    3 tsp baking powder

    ? tsp salt

    ? cup milk

    1 large egg

    2 TBSP oil

Mix together dry ingredients in a bowl. Beat together wet ingredients. Add wet to dry, gently mix together. Heat griddle or skillet over medium heat or to 375 degrees (to test griddle sprinkle with a few drops of water, if bubbles jump around, heat is just right) Grease griddle if necessary. For each pancake use slightly less than ? cup batter. Cook pancakes until bubbly on top, puffed and dry around edges. Turn and cook other sides until golden brown. Betty Crocker

  • I used a recipe from Kiwi magazine last night. Mashed bananas, cinnamon, nutmeg, vanilla, it was good. I tossed some frozen blueberries from last summer into half of the pancakes and froze them. I can post the recipe later  if you need one.
  • Whole Wheat Buttermilk Pancakes

I think I'd based this off of a Cooking Light recipe.  I LOVE these.  I usually add a dash of cinnamon and nutmeg as well.  These freeze great (just re-heat in a toaster), so I usually make a double or triple batch.

note: the skim milk with lemon juice is my cheap-ass way of making buttermilk.  I rarely go thru it fast enough to justify buying it.

  • Thanks ladies!  I always like to get recommendations rather than just finding a random recipe off the internet!  I can't wait for Sunday= pancake day!
