What's up this weekend?

Are you doing anything exciting this weekend?

This is the first time in awhile that I have actual weekend plans!  Tomorrow is our maternity class!! Yay :-)  Even though we're doing the allllll day marathon class, which will get to be long, I'm really looking forward to it.  It should be interested what K takes away from it versus what I get out of it.  Sunday someone is picking up some furniture we're selling which means extra $$ - always a good thing. :-)

Re: What's up this weekend?

  • Janet - Have fun at your class!

We are starting a class tomorrow too - our Bradley birthing class.  I was really set on taking a Bradley class, and we had a hell of a time finding one with a schedule and location that worked for us, so I can't wait!

We are also going to start PACKING!!!  We are taking apart the bed in the guest room to make space to start stacking boxes.  We've both been hoarding boxes from work, and now it's time to start fillin' em!

Yay! We'll have to compare notes next week.  Our class doesn't have a particular theme.  From what I can tell it's going to be an introduction to several different methods/ideologies. Since it's at the hospital where we're delivering we'll also get another tour of maternity ward and go over all the details of that stuff.

  • Pretty quiet weekend for us.  Tonight Sprout will be going to a program at My Gym which means Andrea and I get a psuedo-date night. We're meeting up with friends for drinks which will be a lovely break.

And thats about it for any actual plans! We'll see my parents at some point and probably do a kids museum or two but this weekend's going to be all about taking it easy :)

  • We're supposed to take the pup for her vaccinations tomorrow morning, then Trav's grandfather out to dinner tomorrow night (belated birthday dinner)... but I guess that all depends on if we really get the 7-11" of snow they are predicting for us.

Sunday Trav is putting the carseat in his car whether its dumping snow on his head or not!!

If its not horrible out, we'll probably go to our friend's place for the SuperBowl.

  • Two & Brit,

Have fun with your birth classes... we just finished ours last week week (couldn't get into the one day class, so we had to do the four tuesdays). Hopefully it will be the same for you guys, but I felt a lot more relaxed afterward, just knowing what I could expect!

Does he love My Gym??  What's better than bouncing on a tramploine and swimming in a ball pit (when you're 3, of course! Wink )?? So great that you guys get to have a little time for yourselves while he has a blast!

This will actually be his first time and I know he's going to have a blast! As much as I would love to sign him up for a regular class, they are really pricey and mostly during the week day.  But, we do plan to take full advantage of thier Parent's Night Out program once a month, especially since we have a few gift cards :)

  • Our weekend unexpectedly started today, We had planned to go into work before the 11am iui, but we got a call at 7am that it was moved up to 9:30 am due to the office closing even earlier than anticipated. People here are going crazy about the impending storm storm. It's somewhat ridiculous at this point. The iui was at 23 hours post trigger and I'm feeling really positive about it. We switched donors this cycle and this sample had a post thaw count of 40 million total sperm and 84% final motility. Last iui's numbers were only 18 million and 50%. Re seemed pretty happy about this.

We plan to be indoors most of the weekend. I have a slew of projects that we should get done: removing wallpaper in the kitchen, finally setting up and organizing our filing cabinet, taxes, freezer cooking, painting a room, work I brought home from the office. However, I have a whole season of Brothers and Sisters from Netflix and a new book that will probably get the majority of my attention. Wink

I hope you ladies have a great weekend. Enjoy the birthing classes, date nights, and superbowl parties!

Thanks, Madison. And a big thank you for recommending Brothers and Sisters. We're hooked. In the past two weeks, we've already watched two seasons.

Great!  I am glad you like it.  We are in the midst of a West Wing marathon.  As for Brothers and Sisters, we are watching the current season on Sundays and enjoying that.  Are you watching it concurrently, or would that be too confusing?

We must have similar tv preferences. After we finish up B&S, West Wing and Mad Men are up next in our netflix queue. We saving the current season of B&S in our dvr and hoping that the 4th series is released on dvd soon. I can't stand watching shows out of succession, which drives DW a little crazy.

  • familyway... sounds like the timing thing workedout for you.Best of luck.

I don't know what our weekend plans are. I want to start cleaning out some of the junk I have around here. I have to face the reality that my post baby body is never going to look the same in some of my clothes and they need to go.

Other than that I think we are just going to watch it snow and play with Annie.

  • Well, given the entire area is shutting down b/c we are getting 16-24"+ of snow...

There will be a lot of playing with toys, some Wii, a movie or two, some sledding and playground time (sliding into snow piles is awesome!), some baking, probably some cleaning, maybe some cleaning out of my closet, and praying that we can dig ourselves out by Sunday and get out of the house!!!

  • Not much for us. I need to recover from my cold and I think we may try solids with E again.  Other than that it is just two days I don't have to go to work.  One more week until feb vacation!   I can not wait.

  • aw have fun at birth class!

we're just working on the house this wekeend...

  • We are doing our CPR recertification class online, tidying up the house, picking up the crib and assembling it for our annual licensing visit next week.  I am not sure we will ever get a call for a newborn but we are going to give it a shot.

We are having lunch with our mentor and another lesbian couple agreed to speak with us about their homestudy process. I will probably torture them with a million questions at some point.

It's supposed to rain all weekend so I am not sure we will get to do much outside of the house. Enjoy your birthing classes ladies!

  • our plans got shot. we were supposed to go up to my wife's parents' yesterday and then her bff's today, but with the snow coming in we weren't sure if we'd be able to. yeah, no. it started snowing around 10am, and by 1:30 when i left work we already had over 3 inches and the roads were terrible. now we have around a foot.

we spent this morning playing with monkey, and now he's trying as hard as he can to stay awake. once he does we'll try to get some things done around the house, but other than that no real plans for today.

i'm not sure what our plans are going to be for tomorrow. probably more of the same!

  • Most of our plans for this weekend got canceled due to snow.  For the record, this is what happens when my wife stands up outside:
