Seriously...do I have a dog or a child?
So we have the new pup....Dakota. She's an 8 month old red heeler. She sleeps on J's side of the bed (that's right, I'm shacking up- judge away...lol...bwahwahwah). Without fail, every.single.night this week she has jumped off the bed from J's side and will come around to my side. She puts her front paws up on the bed and will tap or paw my arm so I wake up to take her out....BRAT! I love this girl but dang it, I'm exhausted right now!
Re: Seriously...do I have a dog or a child?
You hussie!
She knows who takes care of her.
The funny thing is that she tends to hang around him more when we are both at home....and I know he would take her out if she woke him up. In fact, when I was complaining about it after the first night- he asked me why I didn't wake him up.
My dog wakes my DH up at 6:30 every morning even on the weekends. Most of the time he doesn't even need to go out just wants him up. Once DH gets up and goes into the living room the dog goes back to sleep.
So it looks like we both have children.
By beagle does the same thing!!! Paws at me until I'm awake. Then, he's just pleased I'm awake so he can steal my spot in the bed. He's so rotton.

A journey of building the dream.
Hee hee. That's so funny. I guess your dog is trying to train your DH. He'll be fully prepared for early morning wakeups by the time your LO gets here. Hee hee.
Our cat will usually start walking all over us and meow in our face until one of us gets up and gives him bathwater. He's a fiend for bathwater. Weirdo.
Ha. My cat steals my spot all the time. He sneaks into my spot when I go to the bathroom 50 million times during the night. Of course, him being our baby, I usually scootch in around him and hog DH's side of the bed. Hee hee.
Side note... browntrout.com has a 2010 calendar completely devoted to red heelers. I don't care about the calendar itself, but the photos are adorable!
Yeah, I'm glad she's letting me/us know now....she's a great dog...I'm lovin' her! Off to check out the calendar

My 101
Oh it gets better. The dog won't come near me (smart dog) in the mornings but sometimes the dog and the cat go tandum on DH just to wake him up. There has even been a few mornings where DH goes into the guest room and both of them go in there and try and wake him up all morning.
I only feel kinda bad for DH. Not bad enough to wake up though. A girl needs her sleep!
Did I mention I've had the cat for 11 years and I've only had DH for 3? The cat only wakes him up. I love it!
My malamute does this to me as well. He is such a brat! I guess he knows it is next to impossible to wake DH
Hahaha, Keri, that is so sweet! Although, ... I'm sure it doesn't seem like it every morning
Our girl dog, Kimber, is most definitely my husband's dog. She glares at me when he's out of town and does not even attempt to hide her favoritism. Example: When she's in bed with us, she'll cuddle with her back up to him and her feet on me ... and attempt to push me out of bed with her legs. She does NOT like to share him!
Yet... every morning when she wants to go outside, I am the one she's barking at.
It's kinda like ... don't bite the hand that feeds you. Nag the one who lets you outside
