I went to the doctor

no Dr. HS, my OB/GYN. Apparently, I have been having heart palpitations. She is sending me to get an ECHO and some blood work.

I now have a whole new list of terms and symptoms to run by Dr. Google.

::cracks knuckles::

 This could take ALL day.

Re: I went to the doctor

  • Join the group.  I've been having them since I was 15.  Asymptomatic for me.

  • ooh let me know how it goes. i haven't had heart palpitations since i started with the beta blockers.
  • Zilla - I didn't know these were palpitations. I thought it was something weird my heart did as a result of my heart-flow murmur and wasn't too much concerned. Well, they are likely a result of either the murmer or stress and is of concern, especially if I get KU (which we are still actively preventing until BOTH of us are empoyeed).

I've been having them eventhough I am taking 10mgs of Bystolic (beta blocker).

  • Good luck!

I can't wait for the "im getting a divorce" post in 5 years or so because your husbands were fed up with your disgusting chair asses from playing on the knot all day and getting fired 4-5 times for not doing any work. you guys are all winners!! ~ Laur929
  • You Dr. Google is only going to freak you out. Wait for your test, and keep us posted.

  • i lied - i actually get them sometimes, if i overuse salt and caffeine late at night. but it's rare, and they never bothered me. i think mine are tied in with my stress and BP.

    i need a new doctor.

  • Yeah, NOLA, the doc told me to stop being so anal-retentive. I HATE that word, "anal." It is so pegorative. I'd like to think I am just particular. But you know I came home and cleaned the crap out of my house because I was so anxious.

Zilla - This was the first time I saw this OB/GYN. H and I both really liked her, so that is good. If only I could find a better neurologist. Or, I could send Dr. HS back to medical school and ask him to become a neurologist! Yeah, that's the ticket.

  • I usually experience them when I'm stressed, have had too much salt or not enough exercise.

  • Your H met with your OBGYN?

I get chest pains now and again.  Haven't had them since I was pregnant though.  Maybe you should just get pregnant and it'll fix your heart problems, Min.

  • Nico - H goes with me to most all of my doctor's appointment. I figure, he ought to know what is going on, because if anything happens to me, he is going to be the decision maker. He needs all the data and I don't want to have to reiterate everything to him after every appointment. Also, going with me gives him a chance to ask questions.

Having a baby will actually put stress on my heart, which is why the doc said no baby making until we get this figured out. Baby will kill me. Fecking parasites ;)
