We're in the market for a new one. Are they all created pseudo equal or is there a better brand than others? I've got a 30% off at Kohl's and 20% at Macy's and Bed Bath and Beyond.
Re: Down comforters
There is a wide range of quality and types of "down" comforters. I JUST saw a thing in Real Simple that had them broken down by type and cost. Of course, I was reading magazines from 2008, so it may have been an old issue. (The power was out, so I was making the best of a bad situation).
I do remember them saying IKEA had the best quality for the cheapest products. Also, if you are willing to have a different type of feather than down, it is cheaper. Personally, I would look for something that is machine washable, because it costs so much to dry-clean them.
I don't think it is a particular brand that you are going to have to look for, but rather type.

Also, if you don't want to use a duvet, make sure you get a down comforter with a tight knit weave, or else you wake up with a feather in your eyeball.
Thanks Min! We have a duvet, but the comforter is over 7 years old and squished to about nothing.
Good to know about Kohl's too.
