Sinuses are the devil...

What do you sinus sufferers recommend for drugs?  I swear I've tried them all, including a nasty nasal spray, but I'm sure there's something I haven't tried yet.  I'm desperate to the point where I may ask a coworker to punch me in the face soon.

Re: Sinuses are the devil...

  • Nasal spray usually does it for me.  Hmm...maybe you should go to the dr if nothing is working.  I hope you feel better soon!
  • I hear that Neti pots are really great, but I am not brave enough to try that.
Before I was pregnant I was taking Nasonex (prescription nasal spray) which made me feel great.  I miss Nasonex.

  • 2 Advil Liquid Gels and a hot rag over my face.

I used to wake up with my eyes almost swollen shut from helping my Daddy bail hay the day before and my sinuses would hurt so bad my skull would hurt and this always helped.

Hope you get to feeling better.

  • Before I had my sinus surgery, I used Nazonex.  It was from heaven.  At first I hated the spray but that stuff really worked wonders for me.  I ended up with surgery anyway and haven't had problems since.
  • If its intense pain go to your dr. you may have a sinus infection and you're going to need antibiotics.  I have a prescription for nasonex but I actually prefer Afrin severe congestion spray over it.  I use musinex but it reacts quite differently with people.  I have no issues from it, H on the other hand it pretty much turns into speed in his body and he can't sit still even though he feels like crap.

Things I do to get temporary relief are eat spicy things, stick my head over a pot of boiling water and drink lots of tea - this is mostly for the steam effect, oh and keep menthol cough drops around sometimes they'll relieve some of the pressure to make life bearable.

Alot of people like the neti pot but don't use it while your sinuses are all jacked up.  I personally don't like it, it makes my sinuses act up but I seem to be a rare case because my ENT was a little surprised at how bad it bothered me.

  • I swear by a Netipot, and green tea. My sinus infections long ago stopped responding to antibiotics.

  • My FIL swears by the Nettie Pot.  You could always try using a humidifier also.
