So, back in December, I ordered my nook. It was backordered with a ship date of 2/1. I also ordered a cover, it was a pre order, with a ship date of 1/4. I was told they would ship together. That was fine with me, I mean, what would I do with a cover and no nook, right? Nook came Tuesday. No cover. See on the item list expected ship date of 2/4. No worries, it's just a couple days. Since there was no shipping notification on the second package as of today, I go online to check it out. My cover's expected ship date? APRIL 10! Yes. They are now out of stock and will not be getting any more in until April. I called to complain, and was told had I ordered them separately, the cover would have shipped in Jan, on its own. But, since I ordered them together, they don't even HOLD one for my order. They let them sell out and jump ahead of other people with orders. I am so farking mad.Almost 5 months for something to ship is ridiculous, but had I ordered it knowing it would be that long, I would be fine with it. But, IMO, there is no excuse for this to work this way. None. And, the most they've offered is to cancel the order, which I am well aware I can still do, without their help. I definitely expected better customer service. I did call back and cancel. And it's going to take at least 24 hours for the credit to go on the gift card I paid with. (at least I still HAD the gift card!) I found a cover here: www.hob-op.etsy.com instead, and it's much prettier. I also emailed barnes and noble to let them know how unhappy I was with how this has been handled.

Re: XP: barnes and noble vent
That's sucky.
I've pretty much always found B&N to have poor customer service.
(I have a K2, not a Nook. It's great, BTW.)
so far, I do really love the nook, but this CS has me questioning the decision.
I've always had great CS from them, so this is a new one for me...but I'm still mad!
I also got my nook after waiting over a month past Christmas, but didn't find a cover from BN that I liked that I was willing to pay those prices for.
I ended up getting mine from Javoedge.com, and it's awesome. I like that it has a full frame to hold the nook in place, instead of some flimsy elastic loops.
I almost ordered the cherry blossom one from there! But I found one I really liked at www.hobop.etsy.com
