BR= I'm a little freaked out

Today I had a doctors appt that has left me a little shaken up. First I had an ultrasound like I do every Friday now. Last week my amniotic fluid was a little low at 8.4. Doctor said to make sure I'm drinking lots of water. I thought I was. I drink more water than anyone else I know! So I tried to drink a lot but today my amniotic fluid was down even more at 7.6. If it gets to 5 doctor said he will deliver that day. Also LO didn't practice breathe during the ultrasound. She watched for a whole half an hour for Ryan to breathe and he didn't. She said he didn't fail the test but he only got 6 out of 8 points,

Good news is that during the NST (non-stress test) where they record his heart rate, he did perfectly.

I got a little upset when the doctor said he will deliver if amniotic fluid gets to 5. He said I shouldn't be upset at all. He said that's why we're doing these test, to make sure everything is okay in there and take him out if not. He said I'm far enough along that everything will be fine and really didn't seemed concerned at all.  I have the same thing next Friday when I'll be 35 weeks. I suppose I should wrap my head around the fact that Ryan could be here much sooner than we thought, 5 weeks early. Indifferent

Please send some prayers or good vibes our way that little Ryan stays in the oven longer!

Re: BR= I'm a little freaked out

  • Sending you & your hubs lots of thoughts and prayers. And sending Ryan lots of "keep on cookin" vibes! Hope he stays put for a LITTLE bit more --- if he gets too anxious to meet the world, I hope he's nice and healthy.

Please keep us updated .. wishing you guys the best of luck!

  • Good luck! Hope he stays in till at least 36 weeks!

  • Sending you vibes that your a/f fills up.  I know how you feel!  Mine fell low at 40.5 weeks and then they had me come in the next day for a follow up u/s.   Then they scared me and said they would have to start induction that NIGHT if it was low again, but for whatever reason it came back up 24 hours later.  Mother nature is so weird.   It's such a roller coaster ride towards then end.  Biggest advice, is just be prepared for anything and have your bags packed.  I was over prepared and he didn't come out until we started induction at 41 weeks.  Go figure.

Get lots of rest and put your feet up as much as you can.  That's what helped me in the end.

    And take good care!

  • I am sure everything is going to be just fine, but I completely understand being nervous.  lots of vibes heading your way!!

Good luck & keep us posted!!

  • I totally understand how you can be freaking out b/c you weren't expecting the LO to be here for another month or so... but don't worry, no matter what happens he will be ok.  your doctor is right...at this stage of gestation you don't have anything to worry about. just think... you have a little forewarning now vs some mommies whose babies come early w/o warning!

that said, i am sending lots of "stay in the oven" vibes your way so that he hangs out there a while longer, at least until 37 wks if possible :)

  • I'm glad to hear that he passed the heart rate test with flying colors. Keep us posted and lots of prayers and vibes your way for Ryan to stay in there longer!

  • Big hugs Julie!  I hope increasing your water intake will do the trick.  A great rule of thumb is at least half your body weight in ounces each day.  If you have to deliver early please know that Ryan will be okay.  Mrs. Ziz's Bella came at 35 weeks too and my brother and I were born at 34 weeks.  Try not to stress and just prepare yourself as best you can...you'll be okay.  Sending you vibes to keep baby cooking!
  • Sending you vibes as well Julie! Thinking of you and Ryan *hugs*

This is exactly what I was going to say. I know it's super scary (big hugs!), but you're far enough along that if you do have to go early, at least you know it's OK and you don't need to worry about any health issues.

That said, I'll keep my fingers crossed that he can stay in there another couple of weeks!

  • Sending you lots of good vibes!
  • Be strong, your LO is almost here! Sending you good thoughts and vibes. Just stay positive! It's good that your Dr is looking out for you. :-)

  • Thank you girls so much for all your nice words! You are all so wonderful & supportive.

BTW- DH isn't worried at all. He is actually excited because he said he didn't know how he was going to wait another five weeks to meet his little guy. How is that for being positive!

I'm doing what Lori said and making sure I drink half my weight in water. I'm not just assuming I drink a lot of water anymore, I'm using a 32oz water bottle to measure and make sure.

  • sending you lots of good vibes...  try to keep a positive outlook though!
  • Hang in there!  Sending healthy vibes your way!

Good girl!  Now...just rest, relax and drink up.  If Ryan decides to come early, I am sure all will be fine and it's just that much sooner you and Jay get to snuggle him.  Hang in there!

  • Sending you tons of good baby baking vibes. Stay in there just a little bit longer, Ryan!
