The dust has some what settled :)

So, we have been a little stress out lately mostly due to my fiances job.  He has been working for a small HVAC company for 5 years that is owned by his parents and they have recently has some trouble with business slowing down, there for my fiance who is already underpaid didn't get paid one check in Dec, and another check in Jan.  This is not going to work.  So he is starting to look for another job right now and I just pray everyday he finds one soon.  I guess we are looking at this as a blessing in disguise, currently we would not be able to start TTC when we plan and buying a bigger home as our family grows would be hard to save for.  So him looking and *cross you fingers* getting a better job that pays more and on time we can do all of those things.

  • My DH went through this about a year and half ago, so I know how you feel.  It was extremely stressful, but ended up being the best thing that could ever happen to him.  He is now in a career that he loves. Hang in there and try to be supportive of him through it all! I know this was hard for me at times when money was tight, but like I said it ended up being totally worth it. HTH!

  • Thanks girls, I am doing everything in my power to be as supportive as I can be,  He is an amazing man and knows some much of the industry I don't think it will be long before a company wants him on there team :)

Like i was telling him the other day, when this is all said and done we are going to come out a head and be able to do so many more things then we can now :)

  • Looking for work stinks!  My dh is currently unemployed, though it is not so bad considering he was also unemployed a little over a year and a half ago and we were preggo--that time totally stunk!  We try to remember that there is a plan for us and try to let go of the stress :)

I hope he finds something he likes soon!

  • Thank you. He def. wants to stay in the hvac industry because he is so knowlegable in it.  I know there is plan for us and i am working on letting go of the stress Wink

  • Wow....

First, I hope your DH finds a job soon!

Second, how is it OK for his parents not to pay him?

Second, how is it OK for his parents not to pay him?

I honestly have no idea, his mom called me the other night and we were talking and she brought it up and told me how bad they feel about the whole thing.  And iIunderstand that they feel bad but I just don't know how they can just not give him warning before it came to that.  It also makes it harder because it is his parents so I have to sometime tone down my frustration and opinion on how truly upset it makes me! I know that I have to stand by him and support him so I have to learn to keep my opinion to myself. Which is not always easy for me.

  • I know what you mean about the construction business slowing down. DH and FIL own a small subcontracting business too and there were plenty of times within the past year where we had to skip out on checks. If the money wasnt there- then it wasnt there. We are still fighting to get paid on some contracts we finished last summer Sad

  • Wow, what a stressful thing to be dealing with, especially right around/after the holidays. I think you've got a great attitude about it, though, considering it as a blessing in disguise that could end up with a great result in the long run. I'll keep my fingers crossed that your hubby finds something he loves soon.
  • Thanks Smile I hope so too...
