What did you do this weekend?
Re: How was your weekend?
Saturday we had our first bradley birthing class, which was great. The instructor seems very nice, laid back and knowledgeable - she delivered all four of her children without drugs, and had very varied experiences with each (one in the car on the way to the hospital, one with midwives in a local hospital, one with midwives in france - and I forget the other). It's nice to know that she is teaching from experience! We're going to learn lots of relaxation techniques, and I have lots of exercises to do (kegels, squatting, etc). C and I both feel really good about the class and how prepared it will make us for the birth.
Saturday we also went to Home Depot (for paint samples!!) and Target, then stayed in for the night. We got the guest bed disassembled to make room for boxes!
On Sunday we did the grocery shopping and spent the day packing (9 boxes packed!), doing laundry and other chores. Then a friend of ours came by to eat wings and cake (I had an urge to make a cake
) and watch the first half of the super bowl.
It was a great weekend - especially wonderful because it was the first in a couple of weeks that Cecilia was actually home for all of it!! Yay!!

Saturday we went shopping for DD's birthday gift, not sure what to get, we ended up with a Disney Jonas Brothers karaoke machine. She's going to love it! DW had to work in the evening so I sat on my butt and watched TV until she surprised me by coming home early with dinner and a movie.
Sunday morning I made closeslaw and a pear/apple/berry crisp for the SB party. We went to my IL's for the party and ate too much and didn't win any of the quarters on the squares. Haha, it was fun though. OH! I'm surprised they didn't show Kim Kardashian AT ALL during the game.

Saturday was an okay day. In the morning we hit up a little natural baby store in the area thats going out of business. I heard rumor that they had Ergos 60% off which is what I was really going for, but unfortunately they were sold out. I did get a good deal on some fuzzi bunz which made up for it slightly. Then we let Sprout run around at chuckie cheese for a bit before lunch and nap. In the afternoon we went to a kid's museum and out to dinner at Red Robbin.
Sunday started off well with grocery shopping, a trip back to the kid's museum, Five Guys, and nap. But, it quickly went downhill after that with tantrums, talking back, peeing on the couch (and Andrea), and trying to choke himself with his fist. Can I just say how much I hate sunday evenings?? I still have a knot in my stomach thinking about the horror of the evening. The only redeeming thing was the amazing low-fat mint chocolate chip ice cream we made - it was very yummy. Oh, and Rosebud also took pitty on me and slept straight from 8pm to 4am - that's eight hours!! way to go baby girl!

Sorry chickadee, sounds like you had a tough day.
We were stuck at home all weekend b/c of the snow. I was a bit bummed b/c it was my first weekend off work in weeks. But, we still managed to have fun.We played in the snow, baked muffins, scones, bread and watched lots of movies. E got a lot of work done on the beautiful bench she's building. And we met our new neighbor!
So sorry to hear you are having such a hard time. You two are doing a great job!
One word...SAINTS!!!!!!
I don't even watch football but I watched the Super Bowl last night! I'm soooo proud of my homestate!!!!!
Saturday was ok but uneventful. Sunday would have been a fun game day if the wife hadn't come down with some sort of stomach virus! She's feeling much better today but spent most of yesterday sleeping and when she wasn't sleeping throwing up! Poor baby!
We did absolutely nothing... which was actually rather nice.
We got about two feet, so it just wasn't worth it to go out. Instead we bedded down with some movies and relaxed. A little bit of laundry, some shoveling, but otherwise just taking it easy.

eek. Is it mostly Sundays? or is that just a random thing?
We were at home with the snow...we bailed on a Super Bowl party too..and I wonder why we don't have friends here
We did finish the bathroom and clean a lot though!
Friday night Carol ended up working so Annie and I just hung out and watched TV.
Saturday we only got about 1/4 inch of snow, but one of the managers called out from Carols parttime job beacuse of the SNOW. ( yup... didn't even have to raise a shovel and he couldn't make it in) So Carol ended up working again. Annie and I hung out and played with her Scout puppy that I finally programmed to play her name and ate pasta.
Sunday Annie went to her Nanas, Carol went back to work and I slept then went to work.
Not a very exciting weekend.
Sorry about Sprouts meltdown, but yay on the baby sleeping though the night!

CT- I am so sorry. What a horrible night.
Our weekend plans kind of went off track. Our lunch out was canceled twice which as a big disappointment. I needed out!
We did get the crib assembled. We also reorganized the girls toys. I had to resort to hiding some because the clutter was making me crazy. Our licensing check is tomorrow and, even though I know we are always in good shape, I worry. We will see if we get to add a third child to our license.
Sunday was awful. LMC spent most of the day screaming and crying and refusing to listen. She climbed her dresser, broke and threw things, refused to use the potty and was generally hideous. She could not get a grip, no matter what we tried. I finally sat down and cried. I felt much better and some Girl Scout Cookie-Samoa ice cream helped too.
ugh! what was with our children last night?? thank goodness for ice cream.

CT & Duchess - I'm sorry to hear about the rough ngihts.
Brit - Yay for a class you love!
We spent all day Saturday in our birthing class. It was a great class with a teacher we both really loved. She emphasised once again that the hospital has a really open minded approach to birth and encouraged clients to think the same way. I've always said I'll go in open minded and let the process take me where it needs to. If I don't need drugs, fine, but if I'm at the point that I need them I won't be hung up on the natural thing and I'll ask. In other words I'm going to let the process unfold however it may. So it was great hearing that doctors and nurses favored that and will be supportive in that decision. K really enjoyed the class too and it felt like it brought us closer together in some ways.
Sunday was spent doing mostly house projects and errands. So basically our usual Sunday :-p
So great that you and your hospital have the same approach in mind! Glad the class was a success!

Friday I got to leave work at 3 b/c it was snowing pretty hard. Thankfully, it was an easy commute. When the boys got up from their nap, we decided to go to the mall to let the boys walk around/play since we knew we'd be stranded. Only about 1/2 the stores were open and there was no one there. When we left at 6, it was sticking but it was an easy drive home.
" title="wink" /> I collapsed into bed physically exhausted. By the time it stopped snowing, we had 30"
I was so overwhelmed b/c I still had my van to dig out of the parking
space and there was at least 20 feet between the strip they'd plowed
and the hood of the van. L brought the kids out to play (Gray had
a blast and Carter thought it was too cold and went inside to play) and
then she helped me dig out the last little bit (I think she was tired
of hearing me complain.) I put an APB out for neighborhood teens
looking to make $$. Two showed up and I put them to work digging out
the van. We got L's truck free and we headed out (the only time I
appreciate her having a truck and having 4WD.) Our street was packed
snow, but the street coming into the neighborhood was horrible. We went
to a different mall (only about 1/2 the stores were open) and let the
kids run and play in the play area, we ate, and we
walked. We also stopped by Trader Joes (the only time I have been in a
TJ with NO one there!) When I got home, the van was shoveled out and I
just had to do a little touch ups so I could drive out of the space.
Best $$ ever. The kids went to sleep at 7 and I fell asleep by 9.
Saturday, I got up at 6 with the kids, looked out onto the back deck and nearly had a stroke. Good lord, that was a lot of snow (we has about 17" at that point.) I started shoveling about 7:30 and would go out for 45-60 minute increments and then come in and collapse on the couch (L couldn't help b/c of her surgery and to say I am out of shape in an understatement.) Rinse and repeat x5. The kids played so well together, I finally got to reap the benefits of having twins.
Sunday I was out by 8am trying to dig out the rest of the driveway and street (they'd plowed the far side of our street so we had to shovel 10-12 feet of street to get to the strip they'd plowed.
Our back-up sitter couldn't get in yesterday and our back-up back-up couldn't either. I have a lot more vacation than L so I stayed home on kid duty while L worked. I got them out around 10:30 since L had several conference calls and took them to yet another mall (good thing I don't like to shop since we are at the mall so often, huh?) where they played in the play area, we ate at 5 Guys, rode the carousel, and they got new sneakers since theirs were too small. I didn't have any problems in L's truck even though our neighborhood street is a nightmare.
