Green Police - Audi Super Bowl commercial
Re: Green Police - Audi Super Bowl commercial
That commercial was AWESOME, I loved it! I would be the first person to sign up for the Green Police Academy.
Best sound ever: baby's heartbeat! (Heard @ 10w1d)

Totally agree. DH's friend who was at our house said "That's what it's going to be like soon." And I thought "heck yes!"
And another coworker was rolling his eyes this morning when we were talking about it.

Ugh, I hated it. I think the Green Movement should be more about people living through example (people always ask me about my hair and how healthy it's looking and I explain that I stopped using chemicals and now it's better, which makes them interested) and not through stupid scare tactics and people insulting others because of their choices. That commercial would do nothing to change anyone's mind who are on the other side except to make them hate the Green Movement more, IMO.
That, and if you hadn't put Audi in the post title I would not have remembered what the commercial was for.
And because I am following their website and the twitters about Audi... WTF is wrong with people? Even if you don't agree with the commercial... seriously:

Oh well...
I'm happy for your friend, and I'm sorry people didn't like the commercial, but that's kinda what I thought would happen. I TTA with jebuell above...it really didn't do much to inspire others to be more EF. yeah, WE got it because we are all already passionate about the environment, but the majority of the population is NOT. I really think that if I wasn't a strong environmental advocate, the commercial would piss me off and would in no way motivate me to change my ways. I'm sorry, no offense...I appreciate the effort, but I think they went about it completely the wrong way.

Just rewatching that commercial I can think of a hundred ways it could have been done better. In it the people who were committing the "offenses" were clearly unaware that there was a better option out there. One scenario might be when they knock on the guy's door to ask about his lightbulbs, instead of arresting him and shoving him in the back of the car to tell him what the better option is, hand it to him, then show the Audi driving down the street as the "better option" in cars. THAT, IMO, would change at least a couple of minds. This commercial did absolutely nothing.
I'm happy for your friend that he got a Super Bowl Commercial, though! Congratulations on him and this isn't a jab at him or anything, just that I can understand why a lot of people really did not like that commercial.
Oh I agree! It could have been done different... but I still liked it! You weren't the one that I was upset with... you didn't say... Now I am going to go throw my batteries out and pollute more cause Audi even brought it up
Your reasons are totally valid! I am just being like the proud friend
