Confession
I know a lot of charcoal grill lovers out there, but I have come to the conclusion that I just do not like them. It may be that I grew up with a gas grill, but I cannot enjoy the taste of charcoal. I feel like whatever I eat off a charcoal grill tastes like charcoal...and nothing else. Doesn't matter what it is - all tastes exactly the same. And I am always burping it up afterwards. Today I still have the taste (and burps) from the veggie burger I had last night. Ugh.
Re: Confession
We've alwas just had a gas grill. Charcoal doesn't bother me too much, but Hank Hill would be so proud!
Oh I love charcoal. We have a giant charcoal grill that also doubles as a smoker. I can't wait for grill season so we can use it again.
I don't notice the charcoal taste.But we almost always add wood chips in with our charcoal, so maybe that's why. I can tell the difference between gas and charcoal grilled food. Grilled just isn't the same for me.
