Would you buy a Wii Fit from Craiglist?
I am having a really hard time finding a Wii Fit. None of the stores anywhere near me have them in stock, and they don't know when they will be getting in any more. Amazon and Ebay have them, but they are going for over $160; retail is $99.99.
I found one on Craigslist for $75 (board and CD). Would you do it? Is there any reason why it would be a bad idea to buy this used?
Re: Would you buy a Wii Fit from Craiglist?
My concern with buying on CL is that you don't know what they've done to the fitness pad. They could have dropped it/jumped on it/used shoes (not supposed to) etc.
I'd buy from a store that you can return your product to for an exchange in the event there is a problem.
I would fear the same thing
Check ebgames.com or gamestop.com
They generally will have things in stock that others don't. They also sell used, so you can get a good deal, and they guarantee all their products to work. No worries. I had to buy a guitar for my wii from them online because Christmas put everyone out of stock. It said used and I ended up getting a brand new guitar. Amazing customer service. Hope this helps.
Thank you all for your advice. The seller says she only used it three times, but you are right.. you just never know.
Thank you for this idea. I will check them out today.
Craigslist can be great if used properly - which is as a LOCAL resource. You should never buy from someone until you can inspect the merchandise in person. Also, read all their fraud alerts carefully. If you are the buyer you should arrange to meet the person (bring a friend if you're worried about safety), and ask them to fully demonstrate all aspects to make sure it's in good working order.
So for the Wii, I'd read the operating instructions (am sure you can download online) before meeting the Craigslist seller.
Craigslist can be great - but do your homework!
