Moving Companies?

Anyone know of any good moving companies?  Eric and I don't want to move all our stuff up to the ::AHHH:: 3rd floor, so we are looking for someone to move it for us!

Re: Moving Companies?

  • Hire some day laborers. It is probably way cheaper..hehe!

We used them they were AWESOME!!! Super fast and they don't require an inventory like everyone else and they were affordable.

  • DMC:  Good point, only they aren't licensed and/or bonded.  If they break our stuff, it's on us..OUCH!

  • MegaP - if you are worried about getting reimbursed for them breaking your stuff, you might want to buy the extra insurance.  I don't know if things have changed, but the last time we used movers we read the "fine print" and I was shocked at how little they can get away with paying you.  It's ridiculous!

But I don't blame you a bit for not wanting to do that move yourself!  Not fun!

  • We've used All My Sons on several occasions and have really liked them.
  • Thanks guys!

It looks like we are looking at Two Men and a Truck and All My Sons!

The other placed wanted WAY too much just to move the heavy stuff 3 bulidings over...

We used them when we moved in last month. 4 guys - about $120 - took them 50 minutes. Totally recommend them!

  • I'd say go with Two Men and a Truck.  They were the most reasonably priced that we found for our move and their insurance is WAY better than most.  Most companies will reimburse $0.60 per pound for an item that is damaged.  That means a 75 pound TV that gets dropped you only get $45 for.  YIKES!!  With TMAAT, they will reimburse you for up to $100,000 of damaged items, based on the item and it's value, NOT on the weight!!  Just my experience. . .
  • Two Men and a Truck -- super nice and way more responsible. All My Sons broke my sisters TV and also tore her leather chair . . . they didn't offer anything and it was a BIG fight to get them to admit any wrong doing.
