i want apple cider and chocolate fudge from a local farm (like 2 miles from my house) - I have been craving these ALL DAY...
I'm working from home, so I'd normally just run out for 15 minutes - but my car won't start. stupid f'ing weather - I have no clue what's wrong with it, but i'm assuming it's got something with the cold and 2+ feet of snow that fell this weekend.
the heater will turn on, as will the lights - but the battery light, oil temp light, and check engine light all come on. I don't think i need a jump because the battery is working. When I try to start it, it won't kick over. I am getting a clicking noise. I got a new starter about 4 years ago, so I don't think it's that. it was running fine before the snow. Any suggestions short of calling AAA? That's my next step.
Re: food craving / complaint...
hmm...I've never played w/ starter fluid in a 'new' car...I don't suppose you have any around anyhow?
DO you have a booster for the battery? (that can be the problem w/ cold sometimes)
no starter fluid. my car is like 14+ yo. I have a 97 subaru legacy wagon - hand-me-down from my dad. it has less than 100K miles on it. normally it runs fine.
i checked the owners manual, but there was nothing in the index on the starter. i'm trying to find a diagram online.
I don't know if the battery has a booster. if it's standard then i'd guess yes, if not then probably not. i thought it might be the battery since the battery light it coming on, but DH says it isn't because my heater and lights work.
By booster I'm thinking something you take the battery out and attach it to...
we have one (or 3) but...we'r enot normal on that front.
