With the call for a few inches in the next day or so...
How do you remove snow at your house?
For us: We are half lazy and just drive over the snow in the driveway. If it's a lot of snow, we'll shovel a path to drive our cars out. We don't shovel our sidewalks, ever! (But it's okay... we have no next door neighbors, so the sidewalks to nowhere.) I only make DH shovel the steps from the driveway to the front door if we expect people over. And also need a spot shoveled off in the grass for the dog (he's small and I don't want him pooping on the driveway... ew in my tires!).
We were eyeing some snow blowers at Lowe's when they were on clearance. But I can't justify the expense. Plus, they are really only good for snow so deep (like, under 10" due to the blades). Maybe Santa will bring us one?
Re: Snow removal
DH shovels all the time. Before work, after work, even when it's still snowing (he'd rather shovel 5in twice than 10 in all at once). He takes a lot of pride in the landscaping/outside of our house and I think he looks at shoveling the way he looks at mowing the lawn.
Also, he wants a snowblower really badly.
I shoveled the sidewalk yesterday, but that's because I'm expecting the UPS guy. Any. Minute. Now.
DH was supposed to shovel the driveway, but didn't do all of it. He did use ice melt and make a nice path to the garage for me.
Also, a guy across the street has a snow thrower. He went up and down our little street and cleared off everyone's sidewalks.
Clean sidewalks and the mailman still walks through my pretty snow.
