BIL and SIL constantly tell each other "I love you" via facebook. By constantly I mean at least every other day. DH and I aren't even fb friends so my wierd meter might be a touch skewed, but it always feels a little uncomfortable.
Re: Is this weird?
They tell each other publicly? How do they do it?
On SIL's wall: Hey shmoofy poofy goofy toofy! I wuv you! wuv wuv wuv!
Or is it more, "OMG that was so funny! That's why I love you!"?
One of her status was "I love my husband." Most of them are of this nature, just random postings on their own wall or the other persons.
He posted that they needed a date night. She replied she loved him today.
Juvenile is probably the best word. It sort of feels like they are trying to prove their love to other people and to themselves.
When people act like that I always think of Pamela Anderson and Tommy Lee. Yes, the sex tape. I love you baby! I love you baby! I love you baby!

I think it's weird. I don't think that H has ever left me a message on my facebook page.

Now that you mention it Hooka, they aren't like that at all when they are together. They are much nicer to each other on fb.
Label it weird.

to me, just slightly weird. i might not notice.
wait, that's a lie. i'd notice. my friend has a 13 year old daughter, and they always write to each other "i love you" or "mommy i am bored, let's do something" on each other's walls. now, i know she's a 13 year old kid, but i know they live together in a not-that-big apartment. i am sure that if they live each other or are bored and want to do something, they'd go and tell it to each other in person.
i tried to write on DH's FB wall the other day, but couldn't think of anything to write. i would think it is safe to assume that if you're continuing the marriage publicly, you love each other. no need to be all schmoopy doo about it.
